2025 BCGL Banter: Week 10 Recap
Filed on November 23, 2025 (Very late)
GOTHAM CITY - Jack Nicholson’s Joker famously exclaimed “Stop the press! Who is that?” in the 1989 Batman movie directed by Tim Burton. The Joker was talking about reporter Vicki Vale, but the BCGL league collectively said the same thing in reference to the Wall Street Journals’ surge to their third win in a row. Wall Street is proving they are no joker in the league after posting a 4-1 record across their last five games — taking down several respectable franchises in the process. Like Week 9, the Journals won in decisive fashion while posting the top score for the week. Don’t sleep on the Journals. They could be trouble down the stretch as teams march toward the playoffs.
Here’s more of what happened in Week 10…
Wall Street Journals 219.05, Da Bears 206.85
The early returns looked bright for Da Bears on the back of RB Jonathan Taylor (66 pts) and QB Drake Maye (32 pts). Unfortunately, the Da Bears remaining roster wasted those sterling efforts. Wall Street Journals relied on consistent production across the board including TE Trey McBride (31 pts), RB TreVeyon Henderson (41 pts) and a superb performance from the Seattle defense (34 pts). The headline for this game has become a familiar refrain — Wall Street Journals Win!
Poppers 205.65, Braden’s Bandits 153.95
The Poppers had an easy go of things this week facing Braden’s Bandits. Braden’s team has taken a nosedive with a 1-4 record since their Week 5 victory. The Bandits have lost so much their fanbase started a petition to change the team's name to Braden’s BAD-its. They’re not wrong. Braden got decent output from QB Caleb Williams (37 pts) and WR Drake London (28 pts). Unfortunately, the Poppers had the better supporting cast led by QB Baker Mayfield (43 pts) and QB Jacoby Brissett (34 pts). Jacoby Brissett!?! Props to the Poppers!
Uncle Rico 201.80, Pongo Pack 129.30
Yes, Uncle Rico won for the third week in a row. Yes, they posted a respectable 201 pts on their way to victory. Yes, they won by the largest margin of the week. However, beating the Pop Warner Pongo Pack has become the BCGL version of shooting fish in a barrel. Pongo Pack received 29 points for correctly filling out a roster this week. That means they only got 100 points from the team as a whole. Paul’s classroom of students is not going to be happy with this progress report. Pongo Pack may be in detention for a while.
greatest show on digital turf 188.60, Underdogs 173.10
It wasn’t their strongest effort but greatest show on digital turf keeps finding ways to win. The Underdogs deserve credit for putting up a good fight, but Caleb’s team is on a magic carpet ride in 2025. QB Matthew Stafford (53 pts) continues to be the Genie in the lamp for Caleb with another stellar outing. The Underdogs tried to steal a victory with strong output from QB Jaxson Dart (36 pts), RB Breece Hall (23 pts) and the Broncos defense (25 pts) but just fell short. How long can the greatest show magic last!?!
The Mean Machine 185.50, Grady’s Grunts 179.90
Mean Machine showed more signs of turning things around since their four-game losing streak during Weeks 3-6. They were just mean enough this week to outlast a hard-working Grunts team in a virtual photo finish on the scoreboard. Neither team met their projected point total which allowed RB Jahmyr Gibbs (55 pts) to stand out on Mean Machine’s roster. In a game decided by less than 6 pts, we feel certain that Grady’s Grunts will take disciplinary action against WR DJ Moore (0 pts). Close but no Grunts cigar this week!
Paul & Glover Phenomenal Team 164.40, Losing INC 150.60
The good news is that Paul & Glover ended their three-game losing streak with a victory in Week 10. Amazingly, Paul & Glover won without getting points from four players in their starting lineup who were on byes. The bad news is that 2025 has not been kind to Paul & Glover or Losing INC. Injuries and team distractions have loomed large for both rosters. The moral victory is that both of these teams would have beaten Pongo Pack this week. Unfortunately, that won’t do much to raise morale.
