2025 BCGL Banter: Week 12 Recap
Filed on November 28, 2025
BILLBOARD TOP 100 — Guess who’s back? Back again? Grady’s back. Tell a friend. We don’t know if he’s still slim but there’s no denying Grady’s place at the top of the charts last week. The Grunts dusted off an old playbook that brought them past BCGL glory — scoring more points than their opponent and scoring the most points for the week. Jeff may not have the moves like Jagger but he moved back to a .500 record for the season (6-6) on the heels of his second victory in two weeks. A little Grunts success — like the Poppers last week — is good for the league. The Grunts remain in striking distance of the playoffs and eager to dispel the notion that they are just another one-hit wonder this year.
Here’s more of what happened in Week 12…
Grady’s Grunts 237.20, Paul & Glover Phenomenal Team 179.65
Not even QB Dak Prescott’s final score (51 pts) could make up for the fact that Paul & Glover only filled 7 of their 11 roster spots with active players. Four more players might have helped but it would have been tough to overcome Grady’s Grunts best result of the 2025 season. QB Jalen Hurts (47 pts), WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba (45 pts) and RB Emanuel Wilson (34 pts) set the tone for a bruising Grunts attack. The win keeps Grady’s Grunts in the #5 spot and in the running for the playoffs if the team can finish strong.
greatest show on digital turf 194.60, The Mean Machine 189.20
Caleb’s high-octane offense has experienced a few hiccups in the second half of the season. Greatest show on digital turf has recently faced closer matches — winning by 1 point in Week 9, winning by 15 pts in Week 10, losing in Week 11 and winning by 5 points in Week 12. Perhaps the competition is catching up to Caleb? Perhaps this copycat league is watching game film on how to trip up the greatest show? Luckily, Caleb has built enough cushion to weather a little turbulence as he lands the regular season plane.
Poppers 189.10, Losing INC 131.30
The Poppers may sit at 5-7 in the standings, but they own the second longest winning streak (three games) behind Uncle Rico. The team didn’t match last week’s high-water mark but they didn’t need to against a Losing INC squad that’s been decimated by injury and bad luck in 2025. WR AJ Brown (29 pts), RB James Cook (25 pts) and a repeat performance by the Cleveland team defense (27 pts) easily swung the outcome in the Poppers’ favor. The highlight for Losing INC was QB Cam Ward (36 pts) — and he was on the bench.
Da Bears 187.40, Braden’s Bandits 104.05
Braden’s Bandits appear to have peaked in Week 9 when they posted a season best 225 points to beat Mean Machine. Things have gone downhill from there as the Bandits currently own a three-game losing streak and sit 11th out of 12 teams in the league. Da Bears are 4-1 in the second half of the season and have moved into the #2 spot behind Caleb’s greatest show on digital turf. Da Bears must feel good about their performance, but they now face the dreaded Paul + Paul gauntlet before the regular season ends. Cue the Twilight Zone music…
Underdogs 183.20, Pongo Pack 121.55
If Pongo Pack was the name for a group of dogs, we know they would all be proficient in the skill of rolling over. Pongo Pack have gone 1-2 in the last three weeks — losing when they score below 125 points, winning when they score more than 125 points. The math is simple even if the league standings have gotten more complicated. The Underdogs remain #3 in the league with the win, but Pongo Pack is nipping at their heels in the #4 spot. Let’s see if the Pongo Pack of dogs will hunt down enough wins to finish strong in 2025.
Uncle Rico 155.10, Wall Street Journals 151.70
The lowest scoring contest of the week may have been the most spirited! Uncle Rico and Wall Street Journals both underperformed their weekly projection by 50 points but kept viewing audiences enthralled until the final whistle. This game featured QB David Mills (28 pts) for Uncle Rico cancelling out QB Daniel Jones (30 pts) for Wall Street Journals. And a match-up featuring QB Jordan Love and QB Lamar Jackson was ultimately decided by K Harrison Butker (23 pts). Oh, Uncle Rico is now on a five-game winning streak. High five!
